Year round activities at Mt. Bachelor Resort

Mount Bachelor Ski Resort is located just 22 miles west of Bend and is the largest ski resort in Oregon topping off at over 1,000 acres. Not only is it one of the largest single-mountain resort in the US (second only to Vail); the ski season is one of the nation’s longest starting in mid-November through the end of May, of course weather permitting. But just because the snow may melt, doesn’t mean the fun goes too. Mt. Bachelor has created an adventurous activity playland that is popular year-round and offers something for everyone!

Once the snow has cleared, the slopes are perfectly converted into mountain bike trails. Mt. Bachelor offers over 300+ miles of single-tracks and the lifts serve access to more than a dozen miles of downhill oriented trails. The beginner lift, Little Pine is perfect for all ability levels. From there, riders can progress to Pine Marten Express where a combination of machine built and single-track trails provide a thrill for any adventurous spirit, from intermediate runs to advanced double black diamond trails. The Mt. Bachelor Bike Rental Center provides gear rental packages with a bike fleet that is upgraded annually.

If mountain biking is a little too fast on your adrenaline radar, hiking and disc golf are both great ways to take your time and soak in the views. If you would like to summit to the top at 9,065 feet, you can start at the base or take a chair lift mid-mountain at 7,775 feet and summit from there.  Mt. Bachelor Disc golf is a Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) listed course. The course starts a few feet west of the Pine Marten Lodge located mid mountain and meanders down to the base. The elevation and varied terrain add extra elements to your game!

Experience Mt. Bachelor like never before with a zip line mountain adventure tour. This dual-line, three stage tour launches from an elevation of 7,800 feet above the tree line at the top of Pine Marten lift and drops nearly 1,400 vertical feet along the volcano’s slope to make it the Northwest’s steepest, fastest, and highest-elevation zip adventure. Ride at your own pace with the zip trolley’s self-controlled braking system and enjoy the thrill with your friends on two side-by-side lines on each span.

At the end of your Mt. Bachelor adventure, don’t forget to have a “Brew with a View”. Mt. Bachelor’s Clearing Rock Bar features a full-service bar with a dedicated menu and a bar deck with unbelievable views. There is also a bistro for a quick snack and check out the Pine Marten Lodge to dine at one of Oregon’s highest elevation eateries accessed via a chair lift. Sunset dinners are perfect way to end to unwind and close out another beautiful and adventurous Bend Oregon day.
